December, the month of giving
Well, here we are in the final month of the year that leads to the crescendo of an outpouring of love and giving in preparation for the New Year and new beginnings.
Well, it will be for some of us. Mainly that will be those that realise that they have a choice and people that have a choice do so because they have taken the time to find out, and that means self-discovery in one form or another and for me that means courses or therapy.
Everything that I do is about enabling people to wake up to their full potential and to achieve their own success, whatever that might be. In my world, that means courses, therapy and the Mind Bank.
The open evenings
We have held sessions in Wrexham and Wirral to explain the Ten Steps and people are signing for the new courses starting in January 2010. There are still some places available and you can book your place online with a deposit. See details of times, location, etc. on the site.
The Mind Bank (Saturday 12th December 2009, 8.30 for 9.00am)
This is my best Saturday of the month. An easy, flexing Chi Yoga session, ideal for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners, a deep, deep relaxation, followed by a shared breakfast, wonderful bonding there, and a workshop around the theme of the month; so this month it will be “giving and receiving”.
Then we have the sharing bit, the networking bit. People use the Mind Bank for support. This does not mean that they have a project going, but they might. It may simply be that they want to check in and recharge to keep their spirits up to keep the power of positive change happening in their life.
When we are thirsty, we need to stop by the well to replenish our water supplies. The Mind Bank is the same. Sometimes we need a boost of goodwill, well-being, positive support, and to know that we are not alone.
The Mind Bank philosophy is simply:
If we look after each other then everyone’s needs will be met.
But if we sit back and expect others to look after us, then
no-one’s needs are met.
It comes from that mad but true idea that if we all looked after each other, we could have heaven on earth right now. There is enough food, resources, love and opportunity for everyone on the planet. All we need to do is to learn to share.
Tell me what you want!
I have some courses that I run when the people appear. There is a wise saying from the East:
“When the teacher is ready, the students appear and when the students are ready, the teacher appears”
I have the following three courses available for next year; if you would like to register an interest, I will get them going. I will ask Ed to put up a page on the site for each of these courses showing greater detail and a system for you to register your interest.
A course in self-discovery
This is a year-long commitment and involves an initial 40 three-hour workshops with the option to do a further ten. It is an in-depth programme that calls on wisdom, philosophy, psychology and science, ancient and modern. It addresses the three great questions:
Who am I? How did I get like it? What can I do about it?
Each session involves a participational lecture followed by a break and then a practical workshop on the session topic. This course works in depth and carries the following health warning:
During this course, you will change. You will know yourself and other people to a greater depth than you could possibly imagine. If you are in an ongoing relationship, you are strongly advised to attend the programme together. If you undergo extreme change, your present relationships will change; it is better that you change together.
I like the self-discovery programme. These days, I run one course a year as the students appear. Overall, I have run over thirty-five programmes; they’re great.
The knowing silence
This is unique course that is useful to both practitioners and professionals. It calls on ancient wisdom and modern research and develops techniques in:
Relaxation, visualisation, contemplation, concentration, meditation (silent, mantras and chanting), plus an introduction to self-hypnosis and hypnotising others
It answers the question:
The course explains how the brain, mind and body work together to form mood, expectation and experience, and provides techniques to enable us to control anxiety, panic, depression. There is an understanding in the programme about how the unconscious mind accepts and rejects messages and there are built-in safeguards so that you cannot do yourself or anyone else harm. It is a practical application of
The Law of Attraction in Action
The course runs over two years as part one and two. It involves twenty-four units including course manual, CDs and mp3 downloads, assignments and a reflective diary. This course can be taken by distance e-learning anywhere in the world. For distance learners, there is internet and Skype contact. For local students, there are weekly meditation meetings and checking session.
A course in Chi Yoga
In 1994, I had an accident that left me walking with a limp until the year 2000. Up to that time, I had been a Hatha Yogi but was then unable to do many of the things that had previously been easy. To meet my own needs, I started doing Tai Chi and also studied Dru Yoga. All in all, I developed my own system that is a blend of Tai Chi, Hatha Yoga, Dru Yoga, Raja Yoga, Doin, Chi Kung, Acupressure, Pranayama and meditation.
I work on the basis that:
When your spine is supple, the prana, chi, ki, bio-energy, etheric energy, or whatever you wish to call it, flows freely through your body-mind system leaving your body, mind and emotions in a state of ease and well-being.
Chi Yoga is a gentle system designed to keep you supple and healthy.
Fees
I put a lot of thought into the charging structure for both therapy and the courses. I have set these so that they reflect the commitment of the student or client to the process and represent the fair exchange of energy that cements the therapeutic relationship. Details of costs and payment options can be found at the end of each course sheet on the site.
For those who wont be attending the mindbank on Saturday I will take this opportunity to wish you a fabulous December. For the new year remember to set your goals, imagination and visualisation to take you where you want to be in 2010.
With love
