About Sean
I was born in Brixton, London, England, and brought up with elder sisters and a younger brother. My father was not often around. My father's family came from a distant European Jewish route and my Mother's from an Irish route though I was brought up in the Church of England.
My life as a child was not an easy one and domestic conflict led me to leave home in my early teens. I had inherited some musical skills from my father that helped me make a living.
Music has remained a strong part of my life in very diverse settings, from rhythm guitarist with Screaming Lord Such, who became leader of the Monster Raving Looney Party, to studying sitar at the Dartington Hall School of Music in Devon, England.
Following a Path
My life Journey has taken me through too many shades and colours to be described here, you will need to wait for my memoirs to be published. Much of my life has been dedicated to discovering the answer to the meaning of life.
I have lived and studied with many communities, religions and disciplines - Spiritualists, Christian Scientists, Theosophists, Anthroposophists, Buddhists, Hindus, Jaines, Jews, Christians and so on. I also spent time with more extreme cults such as the 'Moonies'.
Eventually, I came to the conclusion that most philosophies are elitist. All those that claim their way is the only way and that failure to adhere to their way will lead to hell fire and damnation have, in my eyes, lost the point. It is only when we move away from religiosity to embrace spirituality that it becomes clear that there are many gates to heaven.
The knowledge of life may be expressed in many beautiful ways and all the truly spiritual philosophies embrace and revere them all.
Ayurvedic Philosophy
Eventually, I found a philosophy that is truly holistic. Ayurvedic philosophy developed between three and five thousand years before Christ and is an intriguing and fascinating set of metaphysical sciences that form the understanding of the knowledge of life. I spent most of the seventies as a brother within Ayurvedic communities.
Taking a vow of obedience to my mentor and teacher, I was apprenticed and trained in Yogic and Ayurvedic philosophies and psychology. The Ayurvedic approach is at the heart of all my work today. During this time, I also trained as a teacher of Hatha Yoga and Meditation and, what at the time we described as Human Communication that I now term Self-discovery.
Blending West and East
In the 1980s, I continued my Western psychological training, undertaking courses in Counselling, Analytical Hypnotherapy, Teaching, Psychotherapy and, Supervision.
Doing the Work
Applying spirituality to life is an expression of what I call 'The Work'. The Work is that natural process of universal evolution that seeks to bring peace and harmony through understanding, knowledge and communication.
My therapy, books, publications, recordings and courses are designed to develop awareness and awakeness, enabling decision-making, problem solving, resolution and harmony.
Since the 1980s I have run a team of specialists providing staff support in the private and public sectors across Britain. The team includes psychologists, psychotherapist, counsellors, mediators and trainers.
Love
Since the 1960s, people have both embraced and laughed at the idea of love being active component in communication and as an active management tool. The one thing that we can all be certain of is that we need to love and be loved. This is the only way that human-kind will find peace and fulfilment.
So what am I up to these days?
I spend half my week as a Consultant Clinical Psychotherapist (NHS) working with individuals and running staff groups and training programs.
I take on projects in organisations providing consultancy to both public and private sectors, mainly setting up services for staff support and change management and resolving disputes as a mediator.
Some of my appearances and talks appear on this site where you can ‘listen again’. I am on radio and continue to speak at international conferences and seminars.
My motivational courses are a big area of development, especially “Ten Steps to Change your Life Forever”. These have been exciting and have been run with the general public and in organisations with staff groups and managers, leading to some amazing changes in attitude and motivation
