Mind Bank Review
Saturday 18th July 2009
Yet another successful Mind Bank that followed the monthly theme on the website with a workshop on love and our relationship to this energy, what we get from it and what we might like from it.
The morning Chi Yoga session focussed around Tai Chi Walking and the equalisation of Yin and Yang energies using breath and balance. The session ended with a deep relaxation. This was followed by a shared breakfast, the workshop and then an open networking session.
Pat Miln has decided to run a creative writing course for those who would like to hone their literary skills. Pat’s own story is an interesting one and deserves a blog all of its own. Save to say, she has used the skills learned from the Ten Steps programme to re kindle her life and has gone from someone believing there was little to live for to being a global traveller and a published author again, something that she thought she would never do again. Her course will be of benefit to existing and potential writers. Watch the site for details.

As we move towards August the theme on the site will be The Sun and all the association that we make to this light of the world and spiritual consciousness. So sit back and watch the theme develop on the site, you’ll love it.
To match this theme in the next Mind Bank, on Saturday August 8th, we will be developing the Surya Namaskar, Salutation to the Sun. This is a wonderful sequence of Asanas (postures) that flow together creating a mini self contained Yoga session. Many yogis use Surya Namaskar to warm up for a Hatha Yoga session. Each sequence, once learned takes about one minute and seven rounds, first thing in the morning, will keep you supple for life. Remember:
Traditionally the Rishes would complete one hundred and eight rounds of Surya Namaskar, greeting the Sun as it rose over the River Ganges. We will probably not get to that point in this session, though this exercise, a life skill, will benefit you forever.
Have a wonderful Month
See you on Saturday August 8th - you’ll need a mat and loose fitting clothing that will allow you to bend and stretch.

Mind Bank Review
Saturday 9th May 2009
It was a really good session. We started with a Chi Yoga session, working around a Dru technique doing a tri-spinal release. This is particularly effective for freeing any blocks and allowing a free flow of energy (prana, chi, bio-energy) up and down the spine. Loosening the spine maintains my stance that you are as young as your spine. A supple spine equals a supple mind. We know that we all hold emotional tension and stress in the muscles of our back. This is usually in the upper girdle, leading to tension in the shoulders and often subsequent pain over the eyes as a headache, or in the lower girdle leading to sciatic pain in the buttocks, down the legs or, in the extreme, in the arch of the foot, which can be very painful.
The experience of eating together is, for me, a bonding experience. So the shared breakfast was good, though I was surprised at how much of the healthy options were left over in favour of the naughty but nice options.
During the workshop, we began to work out the form of coming sessions that will be there to support and promote all the members of the Mind Bank.
One thing that came out was how many members of the Bank are musicians. So the agreement was that at the next Mind Bank, the musicians will bring their gear and have a jam session.
Membership of the Mind Bank is open to all students and clients.
Be good to see you there.
